The Weldgrip Turmag is a hand-held rotary drilling machine with sealed roller bearings and a pneumatic drive. It can be used with Auger rods for dry drilling, or turbine scrolls for wet or air flush applications.

Its light weight and high power make it particularly suitable for rope access work. The machine can also be supplied with fittings to allow its use with an airleg. The Turmag has been developed to deliver maximum efficiency, ease of handling and operational safety, and boasts the following features:

• Lightweight for portability and ease of use
• Plastic housing protects the machine from damage and reduces operational vibration
• Rotary valve handle for ease of operation
• Spring loaded safety feature prevents unwanted operation
• Failsafe centrifugal governor prevents overspeed in idle running mode
• Integral gear lock for withdrawing stalled rods

Rock netting of cliff faces - Drilling and installation of netting retention anchors
Rockbolting of cuttings - Drilling and installation - hole lengths up to 10m can easily be drilled in medium to soft strata
Soil nailing embankments - Drilling soil reinforcement holes up to 10m
Gabion basket anchors - Drilling and installation of anchors for additional stability
Tunnelling supports - Drilling and installation of additional temporary rockbolt supports
Tunnel refurbishment - Drilling and installation of rockbolts for temporary or permanent support
